NEW Catalog!
The 2009 season is upon us and our latest edition of the 'DC Power Onboard' products catalog is fresh off the printing press. Noteable new items:
On page 2 & 3, the PT Charger series
is being converted to a white powder coat finish with a stylish angular
cover. Several models are now manufactured in this new configuration,
with the remainder being ready by the first of the year. The time
proven internal circuitry is unchanged and despite the products
"softer" external appearance, be assured it contains the rugged Newmar
quality you have come to expect. In addition, two models have power
upgrades: the PT-24-40 is now the PT-24-45U, and the PT 70 will become
the PT-80 early next year.
Page 13 features an expanded line of Voltage Stabilizers
in 3 through 35 amp ratings. These units are ideal for maintaining well
regulated 12 or 24 volts to electronics and other loads when battery
supply voltage droops or exceeds nominal levels.
A higher power 12 volt Battery Integrator, model BI-200, has also been added to the line, rated at 200 amps, see page 14.

It's Official: Newmar Receives ABS Certification for Meeting Battery Charger Standards
The
Phase Three series chargers in ratings up to 100 amps, used in
conjunction with the Phase Three Monitor and Control Unit, model PT-MCU, meet American Bureau of Shipping requirements.
The
PT-MCU brings together a number of different features which, in tandem
with the standard PT charger functions, compromise a charging system
that meets the rigorous standards that ABS class
vessels require.
For
battery chargers, the PT chargers comply in the most important
respects, but to meet the exacting standard the charging system as a
whole must have certain additional capabilities, such as local float
voltage measurement and adjustment, manual AC disconnect and an
indicator light in the "down stream" side. The PT-MCU connects to the
charger via a supplied wiring harness to provide these functions and
ensure compliance of the charging system.
If
you are specifying or installing electrical equipment on vessels which
are being surveyed for ABS compliance, feel free to contact "Kap"
Kaplan by email at kap@newmarpower.com or by phone at 800-854-3906. He
will be happy to provide further details on how to meet ABS Battery
Charging System Standards using the PT-MCU. You can also refer to
the the American Bureau of Shipping website for further information.

Introducing 200 Amp Model Battery Integrator
You
asked for it,you got it! A higher power Battery Integrator. We are
pleased to announce the release of a 12 volt, 200 amp battery
integrator, model BI-200.
Battery
Integrators allows a single source, such as an alternator, to charge
two separate battery banks without voltage drop, yet maintains 100%
isolation at all other times.
The
units are continuous duty rated, have heavy duty silver-plated
contactors, and a voltage sense circuit that is encased in epoxy
providing extra durability. They feature an easy three wire
hook-up for two battery bank systems (BATT +, BATT -, GROUND). Other
features include a terminal for optional remote light connection
indicating when battery banks are integrated, as well as an optional
manual override function that can be wired to the ignition or
battery tie switch, paralleling battery banks together
for extra boost during engine start.
